Launch of the Intercultural Management Semester

The incredible adventure of the Intercultural Management Semester was launched on 13 th February for the students of the Grande Ecole Programme of the ICD Business School. It has begun in Malta and our students will soon discover the heart of ancient Greece, Athens. More than a first professional experience abroad, the SMI also represents an exceptional opportunity for our students to build their international network. As junior export consultants, students work for a partner company of the ICD Business School with the mission of international development.

The current context: Adapt and reinvent

Given the sanitary context, this year the SMI has rethought its route. Malta, Athens, Thailand and finally Montreal are part of the new route for our icedians. This year moreover, the SMI will jointly gather the 2nd, 3rd and 4th year students of the Grande Ecole Programme. But the aim of this programme is still essentially the same. As junior consultants, the main mission of the students is to carry out projects such as exports for French companies. They are mandated by the latter to lead the study, contact and recommendation phases prior to any decision to develop the activities of the mandated companies internationally.

The objectives of the SMI

The SMI is a unique international experience for our students, with three objectives:
Academic: It enables our Grande Ecole students to gain international professional experience
Cultural: An intense cultural immersion, both personally and professionally
Professional: International management, export missions entrusted to students during their stay

First challenge: Malta

Since arriving in Malta, the icedians have met professionals from various sectors. The most striking moments of this destination are: the meeting with the Vice President of the Maltese Parliament, Mrs. Claudette Buttigieg, or the visit of cultural places such as Valletta. Nonetheless, this is only the first part of this wonderful adventure for our learners. There are still several stages to come and, above all, many great stories to tell. In the meantime, here is the SMI programme:

  • From 13 to 5 March: Malta
  • From 5 March to 26 March: Greece.
  • From 26 March to 7 May: Thailand.
  • From 7 May to 3 July: Canada

Also follow our icedians step by step through the SMI blog and also through the Instagram account. Stay tuned!
