THE ADMISSIONS DEPARTMENT: THE GATEWAY TO THE ICD BUSINESS SCHOOL

Known to all students and future students of the ICD Business School, the admissions department is the gateway to the school!

The admission department

A professional and human team that accompanies and guides future icédiens throughout their journey, through support systems, such as Junior Programs or Early training workshops designed by the admissions team. You will also see them on all fronts: Open day, individual meeting, live on social media, competitions, graduation, integration day, etc. The school's Swiss army knife, the admissions team plays an essential role in guiding future students. It is the heart of the ICD Business School!

MARION LESUEUR, HEAD OF ADMISSIONS

Introduce yourself!

I am Marion Lesueur, I am 31 years old, I still live near Paris, even if I will soon settle in Normandy, and I have been a Business Development and Communication Manager at the ICD for 3 years. More commonly known as Admissions Manager. I graduated from INSEEC Paris and after 3 years in the admissions team of a film school, I joined the IGS Group in 2018.

What is the admissions department?

The admissions department is THE first point of entry for future icédiens students at our school. We represent the ICD through orientation fairs, high school forums, open days, or any other event dedicated to meeting and informing students about our courses.
The admissions department, if we want to link the field of training to other professional universes, is the commercial department of a school. It is this service which will transmit all the "technical" details of a training course, the terms of access, the advantages, the support on the subjects of housing, financing but also support until the registration of students at ICD Business School.

What are the challenges for the admissions department?

The challenges of the admissions department are linked to the orientation of our future students. All our missions are designed and articulated around the school calendar of the students in order to meet them as often as possible and meet their needs in terms of information. We are also very solicited by e-mail and by telephone.
In my opinion, the admissions department has a very important role in orientation, we act as advisers to young people and their families. We are at their disposal to respond to all their requests and above all to offer them the best possible choice, in order to avoid an orientation error. More than an issue of orientation, it is above all a matter of personalized support. Each student is unique, as are the requests and expectations. This is why we support, in a very individualized way, each person in search of information and orientation within the ICD. By offering workshops, visits, appointments, we are as close as possible to our future students and we are delighted to welcome them each year after having guided them for several months.

Why is this service important?

For me, this service is the heart of a school. It is the responsibility of the admissions department to inform, understand, guide and support each person who will join our establishment for 3 or 5 years.
Orientation is a key step in the life of young people, soon to be active!
Students place a part of their future in our hands, so it is important to keep them well informed and above all, to put them in touch quickly with the various school services that will follow them throughout their education.

We have a very versatile and transversal role, because in addition to transmitting all the specificities of the training, we also know all the missions of the ICD services and of our colleagues in order to transmit the right message and once again to guide suitably the different demands.
This is why this service is so lively and dynamic and why I particularly appreciate it.

How do you work with the different departments of a business school?

Depending on the subjects and the times of the year, we collaborate with all the school departments.
This makes our mission very interesting because we really have a global vision of all the services represented and the challenges of each. We also collaborate a lot with the teams of the IGS Group who support us in the strategic choices.

The objective is the same for each department: to listen to the various interlocutors in order to respond to requests.

What is a typical day in the admissions department like?

A day never starts without good tea or coffee! ☺
But after that, we can say that there is NEVER a typical day in the admissions department. it is impossible to give in to the monotony and we never live the same several consecutive days.

Our daily life is punctuated by: responding to numerous requests for information, preparing representation events (logistics, communication, etc.), supporting students during their admission tests, carrying out the administrative follow-up of ongoing registrations , anticipating the next actions and missions of the calendar etc… it would be far too long to list all the “daily” missions ☺

Any advice for a young person who would like to join the ICD Business School?

Walt Disney, this great philosopher said "If you can dream it, you can do it..."
So my advice is this, if you dream of a specific course, it is possible with good support to achieve it, because no barrier should be erected for your future!

An anecdote ?

The anecdote about my job is that being often represented at fairs or even internal events of the ICD, I am in regular contact / exchange with students and families. Even today and despite my... 31 years of age… I am always asked the same famous question “And you, what year are you in? »
Which always makes you smile, of course!

CLARISSE GACHE, IN CHARGE OF ADMISSIONS

Introduce yourself!

I am Clarisse Gache, I work in the admissions department of the ICD Business School of Paris where I am in charge of recruiting students in parallel admissions and business development.

What is the admissions department?

The admissions department of the ICD is where it all begins! First of all, we are responsible for promoting the overall offer of the ICD training courses to potential future students through various events such as trade fairs, Open Days, etc. It is then a question of retaining those students through a whole customer journey aimed at advising them and guiding them as well as possible in their training project, at the ICD.

What are the challenges for the admissions department?

  • The challenges are therefore to guide and support our potential icédiens  as well as possible until registration.
  • It is also a question of participating in the notoriety of the ICD: participation in events, responding to requests for information from potential students, directing them.
  • We take care of administering the application files until admission and organize the logistics of the admission tests.
  • We monitor student recruitment campaigns in order to achieve the recruitment objectives set for us annually.
  • Be persuasive, empathetic and in a good mood to attract students who want to know about the ICD!

Why is this service important?

  • Because student recruitment and business development go through our service.
  • Because we represent the school at fairs or external events: fairs, JPO, graduation...
