This tournament organized by our students counts every year faithful participants and new ones who wish to benefit from an exceptional content. This year the event was held on the Chantilly Vineuil golf course, a prestigious place, full of history and truly committed to a CSR approach.

A must-attend event

For nearly fifteen years, the ICD Golf Trophy has become the must-attend event organized by our school with its partners, companies and institutions. In a very friendly atmosphere, this event allows golf enthusiasts to meet each other, the students and the ICD BS teaching staff. And innovation is always at the heart of the organization

Golf and values

The objective is to organize the most beautiful meeting between the student world and the business world around the beautiful values of golf and our school. This is another ambitious project for our students who will have the task of being even better than their predecessors. This is a great learning experience to develop one's network and make unforgettable encounters.

HANDISPORT AND HANDIGOLF

This day was characterized by the theme of sport of sharing and especially of Handisport. For this 21st edition of the competition, the ICD BS had the honor to welcome as a patron, Charles-Henri Quélin, reigning French champion. We had, for this edition, the support of the French Golf Federation and HANDIGOLF. 72 players including 14 paragolfers were present. To know more about Handisport and Handigolf, we propose an interview with Sébastien Rabine, president of the ICD Golf Association and organizer of this day.

Interview with Sébastien Rabine

WHAT IS HANDISPORT AND MORE PRECISELY HANDIGOLF?

"Golf for people who were born with a handicap or people who have had an accident in life. They play golf like able-bodied people, but the most spectacular thing is the results on the scorecard, because we had the opportunity to have champions last Thursday and to see how strong and determined they are. They are passionate like us with a national and for some of them international calendar. Christophe BONIN has declined his presence at the European Championships in Portugal to be by our side."

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THE THEME OF HANDISPORT FOR THIS DAY? WHAT WAS THE REASONING BEHIND IT?

"The choice is linked to the positioning of the IGS Group and the ICD on CSR, diversity and inclusion. We have wanted to offer this day from this angle for a long time and we succeeded thanks to our sponsor and contacts with HANDIGOLF France and the FGF (French Golf Federation)

What is the link between this theme and the values of the ICD Business School?

  • Humanism = being open to the world and others
  • Entrepreneurship = creating an event to develop one's network and meetings
  • Professionalism = proposing a high quality event bringing together the management of the school and its teams, to meet business leaders of whom the ICD can be proud."

HOW DID YOU EXPERIENCE THE DAY, YOUR FEELINGS?

"Very good, very fluid, great meetings and an event organized like an agency that has mastered its subject well for all these years."

A HIGHLIGHT OF THE DAY?

"The meeting between able-bodied and para-golfers, a real discovery for 90% of the able-bodied and exceptional feedback."

ANY ADVICE FOR OUR STUDENTS?

"Be open to the world, to others, be curious, challenge yourself and above all, dream big but accomplish your dreams!"

A HANDIGOLFER TO FOLLOW IN PARTICULAR?

"Yes, our patron Charles Henri QUELIN, 7 times French champion and member of the French team, and also Manuel de los Santos who lives in France and who was a former Cuban baseball player and of course Christophe BONIN for his commitment to the discipline. I invite you to watch Michael JEREMIASZ's documentary "WE ARE PEOPLE" released in July 2022 on Disability and Sport and which allowed me to find a childhood friend Chris BALLOIS who is the world record holder in KITESURF.

IN CONCLUSION

"I am very proud of this edition, as I am of all the previous ones, but this one had another flavour, even closer to the DNA of the IGS Group and the ICD and I hope that the next editions will allow us to do innovative things and to get off the beaten track! One regret is not being able to launch the ICD Grandes Écoles Challenge due to a lack of teams from other schools and universities, but we will be back next year stronger!"
