International Semester at the University of the Ozarks in the United States

For two months, 16 students in their second year of the Bachelor Business Development program had the opportunity to discover the culture of the United States through all its angles thanks to an academic exchange with the University of Ozarks in Arkansas.

The University of the Ozarks

Established in 1834 in Clarksville, making it the oldest university in Arkansas, the University of the Ozarks has over 900 students representing 25 international countries.
With a campus of more than 30 hectares, including 20 buildings, 10 of which are located around a shopping mall, this small town completely disoriented our Icédiens! More than just an international trip, our students had the chance to live a true American experience.

Welcome to the USA!

Our students are used to their small Parisian campus in the 10th arrondissement of Paris, filled with people where it is almost impossible to walk through the corridors without bumping into someone. To find oneself in a campus as gigantic as Ozarks was a shock! But the change of scenery did not stop there. Through this trip, our students took advantage of courses dedicated to the history and culture of the United States. Like courses on the discovery of the Bible, for example. A very different approach from what they are used to in France.

In France, it rarely snows enough to close schools. In the United States, however, it is quite common! Caught in a snowstorm, our Icédiens have seen several days of classes canceled due to the weather. An inconvenient experience that they are not ready to forget!

An unforgettable trip!

This trip was a real culture shock for our students. In addition to learning about the history of the United States, it was also an opportunity to discover new ways of working and new pedagogical approaches. Like every international experience at ICD Business School, this one will undoubtedly be unforgettable!
