Welcome to Clara Mantey, the new B2C Sales Director in Paris
Clara Mantey has joined ICD Business School as the B2C Sales Director for the Paris campus. Discover her journey, motivations, and vision for the role in this interview.

Can you introduce yourself?
My name is Clara Mantey, I’m 34 years old, and I’m the proud mother of a 7-month-old son. I’m passionate about music and sports, having played piano and handball since I was 5 years old. I also love traveling and take every opportunity to explore new cultures and dive abroad.
I hold a Master’s degree in Criminal Law and Criminology, as I initially planned to pursue a career in law enforcement. However, my path changed when I entered the world of schools—a sector I’ve been passionate about and remained in ever since.
Can you tell us about your professional background before joining ICD Business School?
I began my career somewhat by chance, working in the international admissions department of a renowned French culinary school. It was there that I discovered my passion for the education sector.
I then transitioned to business schools, initially as Head of Admissions and Academic Affairs, followed by a role as Head of International Admissions for the OMNES Group (formerly INSEEC).
My interest in international education led me to start my own company, which supported international students in their study projects in France. After the pandemic, I joined two schools at the Pôle Léonard de Vinci, where I focused on corporate relations. This experience gave me a 360-degree perspective on how schools operate, combining both B2C and B2B dimensions.
In your opinion, what are the essential qualities for success in the commercial field?
Communication is key. A good salesperson must have excellent interpersonal skills, articulate clearly, listen attentively, and tailor their message to their audience.
It’s also crucial to enjoy challenges: being competitive and pushing oneself to achieve goals. Finally, a solid understanding of the product and a well-crafted sales pitch are indispensable for convincing effectively.
How would you describe a typical day in your current role?
My daily role involves leading the admissions team and ensuring the recruitment process for our future students is both efficient and effective. I rely heavily on the diverse skills of my team, which includes professionals with various backgrounds: salespeople, apprentices, alumni, and more.
The goal is to innovate and find new ways to enhance the visibility of ICD Business School and attract top talent. In such a competitive sector, standing out is a real challenge! What I enjoy most about my role is the combination of management, sales, and direct interaction with students.
If you had to describe yourself in three words, what would they be?
I’d say I’m cheerful, generous, and slightly stubborn.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received, whether professionally or personally?
The best advice I’ve received is not to judge people or situations too quickly. There’s often more than meets the eye, a context we might not be aware of. It’s a lifelong effort, but it’s important to try to step back and approach life with lightness. Life is both long and short, so it’s best to make it as enjoyable as possible.
If you could have dinner with any personality, living or deceased, who would it be and why?
That’s not an easy question, as I don’t really have a specific idol in mind. But if I had to choose, it would be someone who could make me laugh a lot, like Jonathan Cohen, for example.
Do you have a message for the teams, students, and prospective students?
A big thank you for welcoming me into the ICD Paris family! I look forward to building the future with you.
Clara Mantey’s arrival brings new opportunities for ICD Business School. With her diverse experience and passion for education, she is eager to actively contribute to the school’s growth and appeal.
