The current period, marked by major disruptions, is leading more and more companies to undergo a dynamic of premature decline. In fact, we have lost count of the number of organizations on the verge of dropping out given the intensity of the transformations in force in the markets. The rise of platformization in the banking and distribution sectors illustrates this phenomenon. Often, however, decline is the subject of misunderstanding or denial within organizations, which only increases the risk of disappearance. This is why it is important to clearly define the nature of such a phenomenon, the way in which we can recognize it and try to overcome it. We will see that the decline is a complex, reversible phase, which requires specific management.
