ALEXANDRA GOMOT, GRADUATE OF THE GRANDE ECOLE PROGRAM, FRANCO-CHINESE BACKGROUND

INTRODUCE YOURSELF!

Hello my name is Alexandra GOMOT, I am 24 years old and I am part of the class of 2021 graduates.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE ICD BUSINESS SCHOOL PARIS FOR YOUR STUDIES? WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNED?

Initially, I chose ICD BS because of its Franco-Chinese background in partnership with Fudan University in Shanghai. It was overall a nice experience.

WHAT HAS THE INTERNATIONAL COURSE OF THE ICD BUSINESS SCHOOL BROUGHT TO YOU?

I had the chance to learn Chinese for 2 years intensively and then I went to Fudan University in Shanghai for 1 year. I had never left Europe before. It was the best experience of my life. Whether it was the country, the courses and the life there, it was an extremely enriching experience. This allowed me to deepen my Chinese, to gain maturity and to discover new cultures and ways of thinking.

WHAT IS YOUR JOB? WHAT ARE THE CHALLENGES?

Currently, I work in a service company called SOLUTEC as an AMOA consultant. For the moment, I am on assignment at the Banque de France. I am involved in the migration of Dynamics 365 for agents in offices in France who receive individuals and professionals. If I had to sum up in one word the main challenge of my job, it is "THE USER", my job is to improve the application in the best possible way so that it is easy, practical, ergonomic and that bank officers are happy to use it every day. Satisfying users is the reason for my work today.

HOW DID ICD BUSINESS SCHOOL PREPARE YOU FOR YOUR PROFESSIONAL CAREER?

Thanks to the ICD Business School network, it allowed me to do several internships and a work-study year in the 5th year of the Grande Ecole Program. I am convinced that these experiences in companies helped me for the future. It allowed me to understand what was good for me and what was not.

WHAT SKILL LEARNED DURING YOUR CAREER AT ICD BUSINESS SCHOOL IS THE MOST USEFUL IN YOUR PROFESSIONAL LIFE?

I think the skill I use the most today is the art of giving presentations. Sometimes I have to present certain things and it is true that given the number of presentations we have worked on at ICD BS I have been well prepared for my professional career.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE FRANCE FOR YOUR PROFESSIONAL CAREER?

In fact, I didn't choose it. I'm just waiting to have more experience to try my luck internationally. As I explained, I work in IT today and all my marketing experiences are not highly valued in what I am looking for today. As a result, I have to wait to acquire professional experience in my field so that my experiences are valued in foreign countries. Moreover, in October 2022 I will start looking in Asia because I want to go back there.

WHAT INSPIRES YOU IN YOUR JOB?

User satisfaction inspires me greatly.

IF YOU HAD ONE ADVICE TO GIVE OUR STUDENTS, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

Believe in one's dreams. If you want to do something, do it even if it seems impossible.
