Dareyne JOUBERT-PINET - Teaching Assistant.

What is your job? What is the objective of your job?

I am a teaching assistant and my objective is to manage the files of each of our students, to collect their marks, to provide the administrative documents and to make sure that everything goes well throughout the year.

How did you get into this job?

I had my first experience in teaching when I was studying at the Université du Québec in Chicoutimi and I really enjoyed it. After specializing in teaching French as a second language, I started looking for a job and looked for positions that focus more on the administrative side of teaching. That's how I ended up at the ICD Business School!

What is your day-to-day activity? What is a typical day?

There is no typical day in this job. There are many different tasks. My activities also vary depending on the time of year. When we get close to the end of the year, I collect the exam papers, the marks, plan the exam periods, then I follow up with the teachers and complete the report cards. At the beginning of the year, it's a bit more 'administrative', such as registration certificates, school certificates, etc. Every day, students come to my office to discuss a problem they have encountered or to share how they feel in class...

What do you like best?

My favorite thing about my job is the fact that I am never bored and that I do different tasks every day. The contact with the students is also something I enjoy a lot because each profile is different and the problems they bring, push me to find solutions to help them succeed in their studies.

Who are your contacts?

Working in education, I have many contacts. I work in collaboration with the admissions department, the enterprise department and the international department.

Why do you like working in the student environment?

It is a young environment that is constantly changing. We are always pushed to find solutions for the new generations and it is a stimulating challenge!

What facilities does your department offer to support students during their studies?

The pedagogy team offers several services such as financial aid (grants, help with procedures, contribution to the driving license for work-study students), contacts for accommodation (CROUS, etc.) and many others. Our door is always open and we do not hesitate to redirect the student to the right person to find an answer to his questions.
