INTRODUCE YOURSELF

My name is Camille Joy. I am the Deputy Director of the ICD Business School for the Banking-Insurance-Consulting course.

WHAT IS YOUR JOB? WHAT IS THE OBJECTIVE OF YOUR JOB?

As Deputy Director, I am first of all the link between the management and the teaching teams. I manage the teaching teams in charge of the Bank's sandwich courses.

HOW DID YOU GET INTO THIS JOB?

I joined the IGS group a few years ago on the commercial side (admission and communication) before being called on to take on the role of Deputy Director. I naturally chose to work in banking because I had the pleasure of holding the position of Training Manager at another school (outside the IGS group) specialising in banking training. It is therefore a field that I know well and for which I still have an interest.

WHAT IS YOUR DAY-TO-DAY ACTIVITY AT THE SCHOOL?

My tasks are very varied. The first and most important one is to ensure that our pedagogy runs smoothly. I organise communication meetings with the teaching teams (training managers, teaching assistants) so that we can work together on teaching projects. I have parallel exchanges with our partner companies in order to have a regular follow-up of the activity of our students on the company side. In consultation with the school's management, I work on the pedagogical models of current and future programmes. I support the key accounts department in marketing new courses to companies. On a less pleasant note, I chair disciplinary boards when necessary.

Secondly, I am also a recruiter. I conduct admission interviews and evaluate the applications of our future students. Once the admissions process has been completed, I accompany the students to the company placement stage by co-opting their CVs with the HR departments of our partner companies. I then supervise the administrative management of the work-study contracts.

WHO ARE YOUR CONTACTS?

My contacts are all the parties involved: the work-study students to start with, the lecturers, the teaching teams (training managers, teaching assistants, etc.), the sales people and key accounts and of course the HR managers of our partner companies.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE BEST ABOUT YOUR JOB?

Every new day is different. This job is rich in terms of human contact. Exchanges at all levels of the hierarchy allow us to develop on our own.

WHY DO YOU LIKE WORKING IN THE STUDENT ENVIRONMENT?

It's great to be able to accompany a student in the development of their professional project, to be one of the people who will enable them to achieve this project and to be able to encourage them on the road to success.

WHAT ARE THE MEASURES PUT IN PLACE BY YOUR DEPARTMENT TO SUPPORT STUDENTS DURING THEIR STUDIES?

The measures that we put in place are not only implemented during the students' studies. It is done before, during and after their studies. During their studies, we are the link between the student, the school and the company. We carry out individual interviews with students, steering committees with the HR of the student's company and the student, visits to companies, regulations on training groups.... These are all moments that allow students to speak freely and to co-construct their professional project and their training with us. I always tell students that a training programme is not set in stone but will be modified to best meet their expectations and those of their companies. These discussions are therefore crucial to the success of our support.

DO YOU HAVE AN ANECDOTE OR A MISSING MEMORY?

I could tell you tons of stories, but one that sticks in my mind was when I spoke at the integration day at Parc Astérix. In order to represent the school's management and the school itself, I had to speak in the park's arena in front of several hundred students. It was an intense moment! To thrill several hundred students and to channel all their energy into a single group cohesion! To be repeated with great pleasure!
