WHAT IS THE JOB OF A TEACHER-RESEARCHER?

A teacher-researcher is, as his title suggests, both a teacher and researcher. His schedule is generally shared between teaching and researching.

He devotes most of his time to the school he works for, and necessarily holds a doctorate or PhD abroad, and has obviously defended a thesis.

As a researcher, he has an important role to play in the dissemination of knowledge and scientific knowledge. To do this, he will publish his work and take part in conferences and colloquia to present the results of his research, debate and share his thoughts with his peers on a given subject.

As a teacher, he establishes teaching modules, is a member of examination boards, contributes to the supervision of the work preparing doctoral theses, ensures the follow-up of master's students' dissertations and internships, etc. . In addition, he does not hesitate to provide sound advice to students to help them succeed in their choice of orientation.

This interconnection between research and teaching allows him to have a global vision on subjects relating to his areas of expertise and skills. Research is a key element of the ICD Business School, and this is particularly the case for applied research, which occupies a prominent place among the challenges the school wishes to meet in order to pursue its development.

ICD FOCUS ON APPLIED RESEARCH

The new research project, presented in September 2020 to the scientific committee, aims to align research with the school's positioning, with the aim of contributing to the emergence of innovations with high technological content, which respond to societal challenges. .

This new research project, in connection with the educational programs of the ICD Business School, allows the team of teacher-researchers to continue their specialization in trades and distribution. By deepening the thematic specializations relating to contemporary issues and management sciences, the teams study the following subjects:

  • The impacts of digital, Big Data and artificial intelligence;
  • Issues relating to CSR, ethics and citizenship;
  • The emergence of new practices and forms of work, management and entrepreneurship-intrapreneurship.
