When event management meets professional expectations
As part of the UNIMEV project, third-year students enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Management, Event Management track (BEM 3) at ICD Business School put their skills to the test through a large-scale national project. This professional learning experience confronts them with the realities of the event industry and the expectations of institutional clients.
UNIMEV: a national challenge
The UNIMEV project is a national initiative in which ICD Business School students take part every year, focusing on a different theme each edition. This educational programme aims to immerse future event management professionals in real-world challenges proposed by major players in the industry. This year, as part of the qualifying phases, students are working on strategic and operational recommendations for the International Paris Air Show (SIAE), a flagship event on the international stage.
The EVENT LAB module: learning by doing in BEM 3
This project is fully embedded in the EVENT LAB module of the Bachelor of Science in Management – Event Management track (third year). Divided into three groups of four to five students, participants present their recommendations to a professional client, the SIAE, represented by Muriel Kafantaris. This assignment mobilises key skills in event strategy, project management, sector analysis and professional public speaking.
A professional experience with the prospect of a national final
Following the presentations, the best project is selected to represent ICD Business School at the UNIMEV final. The selected students will defend their project against other institutions such as ISEFAC, EXCELIA, the University Institute of Technology of Saint-Denis and the University Institute of Technology of Montbéliard, before a panel of industry professionals. This final offers a unique opportunity for visibility, networking and recognition of acquired skills, while further strengthening students’ employability.
Training event management professionals to meet industry challenges
Through projects such as UNIMEV, ICD Business School enables its students to develop a practical, strategic and operational approach to event management. These immersive experiences foster autonomy, analytical thinking and the ability to respond to demanding client briefs, preparing students to meet the standards and expectations of the professional world.
